My name is David Walter.  I am the owner and founder of Trekboxx.  Since I was young I have been an adventurer, an artist and a craftsman.  As I grew up, I added helicopter pilot, patrol officer and inventor to that list.  As a man who loves to explore the mountains, streams and roads, I know the value of quality equipment and accept nothing less for myself.  I am a firm believer in the "buy once, cry once" philosophy.  It can make the difference between enduring and enjoying, surviving and thriving.  So when my wife and I purchased our Toyota Land Cruiser in anticipation of our first son, I began to imagine how I could improve this already impressive machine.  This vehicle would take my family to the grocery store as well as the mountain top, the soccer fields to the shooting range.

Naturally, I wanted to make our Land Cruiser safe for my family.  I also wanted convenient storage for all our gear, whether we were on a family vacation, a trip to the store or an off-road adventure.  I scoured the market only to find overseas products built by the lowest bidder.  I wasn't comfortable settling when it came to safety or to quality, so I studied and designed.  In my workshop I used CAD to design and build a drawer system. And then another.  I tweaked and modified, planning for every eventuality and pouring over the tiniest details.  Nothing could be "good enough.”  Using my 20 plus years of experience as a woodworker and fabricator, I created what I believe to be the most well thought-out, robust, and aesthetically pleasing complete cargo solution available.  I think you'll agree.  

Here at Trekboxx, we are passionate about the safety and convenience that our systems bring.  Instead of worrying about gear stacked loosely to the roof, wondering at each braking whether something will slide forward into the passenger area, you can drive assured that all your gear is secured.  The combination of drawers, shelves, and wing compartments allows you to organize in a way that suits your needs.  The heavy duty drawer slides let you load the drawers with plenty of weight without sacrificing ease.  Additionally, the Richlite work surface makes for a quick lunch break without having to unpack a thing.

My commitment to my family has become the foundation of my simple business philosophy- only the best will do. Each Trekboxx system is handmade right here in California.  All hardware is sourced from US vendors, using only the finest components available.  We don't cut corners, period.  I wanted a system I could be proud of and could depend on. Now we want you to have a product that you love, so we'll be here with you from start to finish to ensure you are more than satisfied.
